Ellen Lay
Ellen is an accountant and co-owner of Lay & Company. For over 30 years, Ellen has provided accounting, bookkeeping, and tax services to individuals and businesses. By offering quality, efficient, and cost-effective services to her clients, Ellen has maintained long-lasting client relationships that will be retained no matter the tax and regulatory environment.
When Ellen is not in the office, she can be found at the lake glamping with her family and friends.

Vanessa Lay
Vanessa is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and co-owner of Lay & Company. She started her career in 2012 at Ehrhardt, Keefe, Steiner & Hottman (EKS&H), which was, prior to merging with Plante Moran, the largest locally owned accounting and business consulting firm in the Rocky Mountain Region. In this role, Vanessa cultivated a strong foundation for knowledge of tax law and IRS regulations, while also working with several different industries, including, but not limited to, multi-state corporations, oil and gas, real estate, and small business tax returns. Experience at EKS&H is where Vanessa found her passion for helping and working with small businesses.
Vanessa spends her free time playing with her two young daughters.

Haley Sempeles
Haley recently joined Lay & Company as a junior accountant where she continues to expand her bookkeeping and tax knowledge. She has already built a strong rapport with individual and business clients through her work ethic, determination, and relentlessly cheerful attitude. Haley is multi-faceted and has a degree in both accounting and occupational therapy which shows her desire to care for clients.
Haley enjoys her weekends and free time with her husband, family, and friends exploring all Colorado has to offer.
